Let’s face it the role of information technology has transformed business today and it has become imperative for IT directors to have a good relationship with the consultants that they hire to do work for them  It is virtually impossible for a CIO to believe he can do everything themselves with a small department.  There is too much a stake, the business world travels too fast and where it was once possible to simply know technology that is no longer the case.

Today I received an email that took me somewhat aback because I had been asked to contact this person by a colleague.  This colleague was asked by this potential client to have me contact the.  I did and the person was very short with me in his email. This poor person was obviously overwhelmed with too much to do without enough time or people to get it accomplished.

To compete in today’s world a CIO has to have technical expertise and good business skills to survive.  Organizations are interdependent on technology and business processes and need both to work in complete alignment and gain a distinct advantage.  Consultants for the most part in business technology consulting have considerable expertise in the areas of technology and talent management.   We are driven to be of service to our clients by providing them with the right solution.   We understand the struggles of application development, integration, network failures and IT infrastructure solutions.  We really are trying to help.

We know that IT managers face a balancing act between budgets, projects and resources, and they need the best people to get the job done.  We not only provide those people on a project-to-project basis but we make sure that our own internal people are among the best as well.  Perhaps it is time for IT departments to embrace the outsourcing model by becoming more strategic in their overall approach in the hopes of not only gaining a competitive advantage but to ensure they have the right people and the right talent for the future.
